Cisnădie was a weavers' town, and the museum shows where its central factory came from.
About the place
The museum was founded in 1974 and is run by Cisnădie town hall. The collection has textile manufacturing standards from 1834, wool-processing manuals from 1700–1900, an original loom and wool-teaselling tools. Products of the town's textile factory are also on show.
The national museum guide (cIMeC) gives opening hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00, and weekends on request. Some visitors still found it closed during those hours, and others say someone from the tourist information centre opened it for them.
